Vice President of the University of Jinan Leads Delegation to Visit South Korea and Japan

To further deepen the friendly relations between the University of Jinan and universities in South Korea and Japan and to expand practical international cooperation in teaching, research, and talent exchange, Vice President Chen Yuehui led a delegation to South Korea and Japan from June 9 to June 16 at the invitation of relevant universities.

In South Korea, the delegation visited Kwangwoon University and Korea Tourism College.

At Kwangwoon University, the delegation held talks with President Dr. Choi Jang-ho, Vice President and Dean of Graduate School Dr. Kim Nam-young, and other department heads. Vice President Chen Yuehui introduced the distinctive features of the University of Jinan and its international exchanges, expressing hope to expand cooperation based on previous faculty exchanges to meet the needs of disciplinary development. Both sides discussed in-depth cooperation on student exchange programs, joint master's and doctoral programs, Korean students studying in China, continuing education, and scientific research. After the meeting, the delegation had discussions with three alumni currently in South Korea, including Guo Yunjian.

At Korea Tourism College, the delegation met with Chairman Dr. Roh Kwang-sin and Dean Dr. Lee Won-young. Both parties reviewed the achievements of their cooperation in student programs and faculty exchanges over the years and renewed the 2+2 cooperation exchange program agreement. They also explored professional vocational skills certification training programs and further faculty exchanges. Following the meetings, the delegation gave a presentation to Korean students about studying in China and addressed their questions about the cooperation projects.

In Japan, the delegation visited Saitama University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the Japan-China Friendship Association in Tokyo, the Association of Chinese PhDs in Japan, and the Shandong Association in Japan.

At Saitama University, the delegation met with Vice President Dr. Ichihashi Hideo and relevant officials from the International Office, International Student Office, and Social Cooperation Department. Both sides reviewed their long-term cooperation achievements and expressed the desire to enhance the scale and level of exchanges, strengthen mutual visits, and deepen understanding. They renewed the student exchange agreement on-site. After the meeting, the delegation had discussions with University of Jinan students studying at Saitama University to understand their learning and living conditions in Japan better and improve the program's implementation.

At Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the delegation met with Dr. Deng Mingsong, an academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering and a distinguished professor in intelligent bionic robot research. Dr. Deng, a visiting professor at the University of Jinan, discussed joint graduate training, faculty exchanges, research cooperation, and project applications, reaching a preliminary cooperation consensus. The delegation also inspected the engineering laboratory's research facilities and teams.

During their stay in Japan, the delegation also visited Mr. Nakano Osamu, Executive Vice President of the Japan-China Friendship Association in Tokyo, Mr. Inoue Masanobu, Vice President of the Association of Chinese PhDs in Japan, and Mr. Zhang Junpeng, Executive Vice President of the Shandong Association in Japan. They explored pragmatic cooperation in education, culture, and talent exchange, discussing overseas education and establishing overseas talent recruitment stations.

This visit focused on the internationalization goals set by the University of Jinan's Fourth Party Congress, achieving the aims of promoting the university, enhancing understanding, expanding consensus, and fostering cooperation. It laid a solid foundation for friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between the University of Jinan and overseas universities, actively contributing to the construction of "Double First-Class" disciplines.
